Answer: No - it's very much the same as other cameras without a viewfinder - fine in cloudy or dull weather, but we find we struggle in bright sunshine. -
Question:
I need to take close-ups of paintings, is it any good for this?
Answer: I find the zoom option (though great) has difficulty when the camera is 1.5 meters or less from the subject (it keeps de-focusing so you get a blurred image). You either have to get the camera very close to the subject & not use the zoom, or zoom from over 1.5 meters away. With paintings that shouldn't be a problem, when I try with insects it gets more difficult as they move away when the camera gets near... The image quality (when in focus) is great though. The only other thing to watch out for is if shooting in red light. All Sony cameras have issues with focusing or red-balance when the major source of light has a high red content... hope that helps? -

Does this camera have manual controls for iso, white balance etc...
Answer: Yes it has both. A really excellent camera. I am an artist and am often sending photographs to gallery's, they demand the best. -

Can you charge through mains or do you have to remove battery to charge separate or maybe keep changing batteries?
Answer: You do not have to remove batteries just plug mains and the other end in the camera fitting -

Does this camera have a USB cable?
Answer: Yes, it comes with a USB Cable. -

Do you lose any clarity of photos when you zoom in from quite far away?
Answer: I would like to point out that picture quality will remain the same up to the 5x optical zoom. If you carry on after this point using digital zoom, that's when there will be a noticeable loss of quality. -
Question:
Does this have the facility for date stamp?
Answer: No, it does not date stamp the photos.
