The Sound Town 15" raw woofer can work as a replacement speaker for a subwoofer, is not suitable for a bass/guitar speaker cabinet and can be used as a mid-bass. The speakers produce great low end and are an upgrade from older woofers. The quality of this speaker is impressive given the price. The volume is very large, 500W full power, and the bass is strong. There are some issues with VC slap with approximately 250 watts going into the speakers, but it appears that under lower power for a while, then turning them up, works better. Most reviewers have found it worth the money and great value. One update revealed that this subwoofer hits so hard and low, down to the 25hz range if not 20.
