Answer: The deeper notes will tend to be more dampened that the others obviously but I've seen online where you can adjust tone by pulling or pushing that particular tongue a bit, and keep testing the change of it. -

Answer: The symbol on the tongue between 2 and 4 is not a one. It is a 1 with a dot on top. Is that the target? Bought this for my husband so I really don't know too much about the drum. -
