The footbed is made from dual-density foam and the heel height is approximately 1.5 inches, with a very slight rise. The ankle strap placement is similar to the Teva Tirra, which can be uncomfortable for some, but these sandals are very comfortable. They are ideal for strolling and not for hiking.
