It has a fast-acting sensor that opens as soon as you walk by it and it is designed to fit standard 13 gallon trash bags. However, it is not cat-proof and some cats can learn how to open it. The trashcan is made in Taiwan and the can underside is a molded plastic with ball-shaped feet that do not scratch floors.
