The HiLetgo 5pcs TTL to RS485 converters are highly recommended by a satisfied user who used them to connect a Raspberry Pi Pico to a Zero over a long distance. The converters work perfectly without requiring any programming. A schematic for the board is available on protosupplies, and the auto TX enable is done via an inverter ahead of the !RE DE. However, 3 out of 5 of the converters did not work according to one customer. Another customer faced sketchy receive problems that varied between units. They switched to a different device from ANMBEST that was cheaper and required an extra pin(or two) to enable Tx and Rx but was very stable and worked fine with a Parallax propeller.
