INSL-X Primer PS800009A-01 Editorial Review

INSL-X PS800009A-01 Prime Lock Plus Alkyd Primer is a good choice to use on clean laminate wood, kiln dried wood, and to paint old oak cabinets white. It blocks stains real well, and covers almost all the stained wood with minimal bleed through. However, it is not appropriate for stucco and living room floors. The product is also sticky and chalky for an oil-based prime and may have lumps inside when first opened. It is important to prep the surface before applying this primer, which is a bit difficult to work with compared to others that are less expensive and makes fewer promises. It is also challenging to apply, like painting with marshmallow fluff, and it's better to use a roller than a brush to avoid streaking. The oil-base is challenging to clean up, and one needs to discard the brush after use.
