Computer Upgrade King Computer Cases Mantis Editorial Review
The Corsair Crystal Series 280X RGB is an aesthetically pleasing case with a spacious interior that can house a ATX motherboard. However, customers have reported several design flaws and substandard screws which have led to a difficult assembly process. The partition separating the power supply and hard disk drive storage from the main part of the PC is riveted in place, making it impossible to fit a modern power supply without removing the protective cover of the power supply’s fan. There are no mounting options for a water cooling pump, and the screws provided for the fans are in unusual threads which cannot be reused when securing a radiator. Several customers have reported that the provided screws are substandard and their slots are easily deformed. The cable organising straps are screwed into the case on one end, rather than making matching loops for better organising. Overall, this case is aesthetically pleasing but has a poor design, making it difficult to build and maintain.
