Freud LU79R006M20: 160mm Thin Kerf Ultimate Plywood & Melamine Blade
The Freud LU79R010 Ultimate Cut Off Saw Blade is a great purchase for those looking to achieve high-quality cuts in melamine, plywood and other wood materials. It has been tested and found to work on materials such as bamboo flooring, poplar boards and laminated countertops. The blade’s actual kerf is .098mm, it does not come with a bushing insert for a 5/8 arbor and is compatible with the Dewalt 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw with Electric Brake and the DCS577. The blade has been used successfully in a compound miter saw and a track saw, but it won't fit the Festool TS 75 as it is too small. One customer reported disappointment after finding a broken carbide tooth on their blade after very minimal usage. Tear out was experienced by another despite the expenditure, but this was resolved by using the 79T blade which produced better results. When used on a track saw blade performance was still good despite the blade's slightly shorter length than indicated. Overall, despite some challenges, the Freud LU79R010 Ultimate Cut Off Saw Blade is a reliable choice for clean and smooth cutting but the price may be a deterrent to some.
