Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What are the unique features of the Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal?
Answer: The Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal is designed with large holes that reduce sustain, giving it a quick, sharp sound. This cymbal is part of the Classics Custom series, which features a brilliant finish that enhances projection and clarity. Its distinctive trashy character makes it ideal for adding accents in various music genres, particularly in rock and heavy metal settings. Musicians appreciate its ability to cut through mixes while still allowing for nuanced dynamics. -
Question:
How does the size of the Meinl 12 Trash Splash affect its sound?
Answer: The 12-inch size of the Trash Splash cymbal contributes to its bright and penetrating tone. Smaller cymbals typically produce a snappier sound with a quick decay, making this ideal for rapid accents and sharp punctuations in drum patterns. This is particularly useful in genres such as punk or pop, where drummers seek to create impactful moments within the groove without overwhelming other instruments. -
Question:
Is the Meinl 12 Trash Splash suitable for different genres of music?
Answer: Yes, the Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal is versatile enough to be used across a variety of genres. While it excels in rock and metal for providing staccato hits, it also finds its place in jazz and fusion for creating unique, textural sounds. Its distinctive tone can spice up performances in live settings or recordings, allowing drummers to experiment with their sound palette effectively. -
Question:
What is the manufacturing quality of the Meinl 12 Trash Splash?
Answer: Manufactured in Jamaica, the Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal is crafted using high-quality B10 bronze alloy, ensuring durability and consistent sound quality. The precision in engineering provides not only aesthetic appeal but also longevity, making it a reliable choice for drummers who perform regularly. This attention to craftsmanship provides confidence to musicians looking for premium instruments that can withstand intense play. -
Question:
Can beginners use the Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal?
Answer: Yes, beginners can definitely use the Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal. While it delivers professional-quality sound, its quick response and clear articulation make it accessible for those new to drumming. It allows novice drummers to develop their skills while experimenting with different sounds and techniques. Also, incorporating a splash cymbal into a beginner's setup can enhance their playing style and versatility. -
Question:
What is the difference between a trash splash and a regular splash cymbal?
Answer: The main difference lies in the design and resulting sound. A trash splash, like the Meinl 12 model, features holes that lessen the sustain, creating a raw and ‘trashy’ tone that's distinctive and bright. Regular splash cymbals typically have a more sustained sound, producing a smoother and fuller tone. Drummers choose trash splashes for sharp accents, whereas regular splashes may be preferred for softer touches and subtle nuances in music. -
Question:
What kind of sound should I expect from the Meinl 12 Trash Splash?
Answer: Expect a quick, bright, and sharp sound from the Meinl 12 Trash Splash. It delivers a trashy, short duration that provides impactful accents. This sound can effectively complement fast-paced drumming and allow for swift fill-ins or breaks during a performance. It is particularly favored in high-energy settings where clear articulation is needed to maintain rhythm and emphasis without overwhelming the audience. -
Question:
How should I integrate the Meinl 12 Trash Splash into my drum kit?
Answer: Integrating the Meinl 12 Trash Splash into your kit is straightforward. It can be placed next to your setup for easy reach, allowing for quick accents when needed. Many drummers use it in conjunction with standard crash cymbals to create a dynamic setup. Positioning it above the hi-hat or near the ride allows for seamless transitions during different parts of a song, enhancing the overall rhythmic complexity of your playing. -
Question:
What type of stick should be used with the Meinl 12 Trash Splash?
Answer: The choice of stick largely depends on personal preference, but generally, a light to medium stick is ideal for the Meinl 12 Trash Splash. Using lighter sticks allows for more subtle hits while still achieving the desired sharp sound. This is especially advantageous in styles that require delicate accents or intricate rhythms. Heavier sticks might produce excessive force, overshadowing the cymbal's unique tonal characteristics. -
Question:
Where can I buy the Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal in Jamaica?
Answer: You can buy the Meinl 12 Trash Splash Cymbal with Holes - Classics Custom Brilliant - Made In Jamaica, CC12TRS-B, at Ubuy. They offer a wide selection of musical instruments and ensure a smooth purchasing experience for customers in Jamaica.
